Welcome to the ETAPAS hybrid seminar on AI in public administrations and services, and how to address ethical, social and legal implications. The seminar is the sixth dissemination event of the ETAPAS project and targets public administrations, public services providers, IT providers and Govtech companies to share with them benefits and opportunities of the Ethical Technology Adoption in Public Administrations Services (ETAPAS).
At the seminar, we will take a deep dive into the opportunities and challenges AI represents for the public sector, and how these can be addressed. In the first session, keynote speakers from three Norwegian Public Organizations will share insights, challenges and lesson learned on the use of AI in the health sector, as well as on the use of a regulatory sandbox for AI projects.
In the second session, speakers from the ETAPAS project will detail how the ETAPAS approach to responsible development of disruptive technology can support ethical and legal assessment and management of AI projects in the public sector. The concrete experience of the chatbot Kommune-Kari will be brought to the audience as an example of the adoption of the ETAPAS approach and its benefits.
The seminar is June 27, 09:00-11:00, at SINTEF, Forskningsveien 1, Oslo. It is a hybrid event (on-site and online).
About ETAPAS Project
The ETAPAS project (Ethical Technology Adoption in Public Administration Services) brings together Public Administrations, Digital Innovation Hubs, IT SMEs, Universities and Research Organisations as well as Industrial Players, with the aim of introducing a practical framework to measure and mitigate the ethical, societal and legal risks of the application of Disruptive Technologies (DTs) in public sector organisations. The framework will be supported by a prototypical software platform and tested on four use cases focussing on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data and Robotics.
ETAPAS is funded by the EU Commission through the Horizon 2020 Programme.
